This role is four days onsite at our Seneca One Buffalo, NY location, with the flexibility to work from home one day per weekOverview: The Snowflake Platform Engineering team builds software for data engineers bringing data in and out of M&T's central data ecosystem. We are a growing team, currently supporting multiple teams within our department, with plans to expand our usership to more departments over the next year. With that, we need to build the guardrails to make our software resilient at scale. This role will participate in design, delivery, and evolution of core platform capabilities, including framework enhancements, new data engineering patterns, performance optimization, and resiliency improvements.A Software Engineer on this team develops python application code and tests, works with senior engineers to design applications, and supports the existing applications and usersPrimary Responsibilities:Build and support core ingestion / transformation / deployment frameworksDrive standardization across Medallion architecture patternsPartner with product teams on performance + resiliency improvementsSupport production stability and platform governanceUnderstand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.Promote an environment that supports a culture of belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.Complete other related duties as assigned.Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:No supervisory responsibilities.Tech Stack- Python (Object Oriented Programming), PyTest, Pydantic, FastAPI- Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, RDBMS, ETL- CI/CD - Gitlab, Terraform, Ansible- Linux, Cloud Compute (Azure)Education and Experience Required:Associate's degree and a minimum of 3 years’ systems analysis and/ or application development work experience OR Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year systems analysis and/or application development work experience. In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 1 year of systems analysis and/or application development work experienceProfessional proficiency in a minimum of 1 relevant programming languageEducation and Experience Preferred:Basic analytical skills specific to application developmentExperience working in a team environmentAbility to work autonomouslyAbility to multitask on moderately complex projectsStrong organizational skillsStrong time management skillsProficient verbal and written communication skillsM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $80,900.00 - $134,800.00 Annual (USD).
